Google Earth Flyby on Youtube
[Andy Gates] Taking the previous post's ideas a stage further (using open source screen-capture tool CamStudio and mixing it all together with Windows Movie Maker), here's a proof-of-concept of the flyby movie. This is the 56-mile bike route for the Wimbleball half-Iron 70.3 race bike leg:

[Download Google Earth] The Google Sketch-up has the ability to draw any type of model without taking extra time. If you have a Sketch-up and 3D warehouse then you can share your 3D art easily with your friend and groups by placing them on Google Earth.

Chiming in on KML Metadata
[Moving Past Push Pins] Long story short, yes, there are real issues that need to be addressed, but let’s think before this turns into a monster. KML was already becoming the standard way to store and transport geodata around the web, and it’s recent introduction into the OGC standards process has further cemented that. One of the reasons that FortiusOne ultimately decided to support KML import in the short term, instead of GML or GML Simple Features profile was because it was simple. It was one file that you needed for import, and you didn’t need to pull down a separate application-specific schema for more complex files.

GeoURL and Montreal Blogs
[crowded web ::] You can get a list of other bloggers in my proximity (downtown Montreal) who are also using geotagging on their blogs here (there is also a little GeoURL button in the sidebar). Is it possible to somehow integrate this with the YULblog site?

Is Your Site, Blog, or Feed Geotagged?
[ The Marketing Technology Blog] I actually found that a friend of mine at work had a blog by locating him on a map. There are a number of web sites out there where you can post your blog’s location or site’s location by it’s geographic coordinates.

Place of My Places in the Google Earth
[Download Google Earth] Unless you store something in the My Place Folder, it is useless. Therefore, without using the folder you may not realize the importance and cannot enjoy the facilities of the Google earth.

Plazes T-Shirt and Stickers
[ Geekness - with fresh and clean air] I got a package from Germany (from Berlin) today and I thought: Who do I know in Berlin and sends me a package? While thinking about it I opened it up and found some cool Plazes Stickers together with a t-shirt and a letter in it.
