Reply to Better Geocoding within Flickr (Neat Bookmarklet) V5.0
[Untitled] (3) The geotagged tag is coming in very handy for semi-automatically making "smart sets" with SmartSetR. My smart set for my home (Setagaya Geotagged) already has over 1200 photos, automatically sorted by date taken, and grows daily.

Introducing Google Earth 4.3
[Google latlong] Imagery acquisition date - As Product Manager for Google Earth, I'm fortunate enough to get to talk to a lot of our users, and usually the first question I get asked is, "When was the imagery taken?" With the new imagery acquisition date feature, I no longer have to answer. Now you can just move your mouse cursor over an area you're interested in and see when the image was taken right in the status bar in Google Earth.

[Elements Village] Colin: I've done a bit of geotagging using various methods (but not on RAW files). I think the easiest way is using Picasa 2.7 - you just select the image (images) and Tools>Geotag>Geotag with Google Earth.

Teach students GIS using Geonames
[Geospatial Semantic Web Blog] It seems that using the Web as a platform can encourage non-GIS experts (e.g., students) to do GIS tasks (e.g., annotation). Not sure if this is an inherent feature of the Web or just because of the UI of Geonames is well designed.
