Playing with Google Earth Photo Overlays
[vaes9] It’s interesting to note that if you zoom out high above Metro Manila in Google Earth, you can see that the Ortigas and the Intramuros Overlays line up perfectly with the runways of NAIA. It just proves that these aerial photos were taken from a plane (either taking off or landing).

In essence, the Palestinians were getting a state that looked like swiss cheese on the map with only 40% of the West Bank being offered as the “future Palestinian state”.

Bulk geocode
[drupal.org - issues for location (API, module)] Does anyone know of a method to geocode the latitude and longitudes of a number of locations stored with just address data. I manually uploaded the addresses into the location and location_instance tables, but the only way I've determined to set the latitude/longitude is to edit the node the location is stored in and save a new revision.

Portable, iterative geolocation of rf emitters
[freshpatents.com: Communications: directive radio wave systems and devices (eg, radar, radio navigation) - USPTO Class 342 Patent Applications Update] Abstract: Iterative geolocation of a stationary RF emitter through the use of TDOA may include the use of a single portable geolocation (e.g., TDOA) sensor, a pair of portable geolocation sensors and three of more portable geolocation sensors. Adding portable geolocation sensors to the iterative process reduces the constraints on the signals to be located as well as providing a reduction in the number of iterations required to obtain improved location accuracy.
