Sean Gillies Blog
[Entries for Sean Gillies Blog] I believe it was probably the intention of the KML spec writers to import all of atom:link and that the language in the OGC KML spec is just erroneous. If developers go to the Atom syntax spec to understand atom:link, they'll be fine.

Getting on GeoURL [Patrick Nelson]
[Ecademy: user blogs] Although there doesn't seem to be an awful lot that you can do with GeoURL when you actually visit the site, other than add your site to their ever-growing list, the site still currently ranks in the top 100,000 sites in the world (according to Alexa) and that alone should make it worth spending 5 or 10 minutes taking a look at how you can get a link on there.

James Fee GIS Blog » Blog Archive » Economic Recovery with GIS
[James Fee GIS Blog] Don’t get me wrong - I’d like to see the government throw piles of cash into GIS as much as the next guy, but is now the right time to invest a billion+ into technologies that yield limited immediate benefits? I’m not saying that our government shouldn’t invest in GIS, I’m just wondering why we’re talking about making the investment right now.

Update 2: ESRI Invites Support for GIS for the Nation as Part of ...
[All Points Blog] Going mainstream means pricing in the $245 to $500 a seat range for the full market basket of capabilities (ArcGIS Server, SDE, IMS, ArcObjects, etc., etc) which ESRI sells in the $20K to $30K range. That's the simple economics of why mainstream, modern GIS companies outsell ESRI about 100 to 1 on a unit volume basis in mainstream Windows markets.
