[Marine Corps Community for USMC Marine Veterans] Another Korean War? God Forbid: The soaring modern glass towers of downtown Seoul are magnificent -- and to a North Korean artillery officer squinting through his sights from just 32 miles away, a delicious set of targets. The glistening South Korean capital is a city of glass, almost literally in the shadow of some 500 long-range heavy artillery guns from which North Korea can fire half a million artillery shells an hour, for several hours.

[Not Another Travel Blog] The 14th Annual Boryeong Mud Festival | Not Another Travel Blog: The scene was crazy. American GIs mud wrestling wearing horse and cow masks. Korean girls prancing around in tiny bikinis. Couples racing down the coupes slide. People who looked a little too clean getting splattered with mud in mud prison. And then the rain came. Just as our group was about to step into the mud wrestling pit the final dump of the summer monsoon season was unleashed upon Mud Fest. The entire crowd raised their hands and yelled: challenging the sky to rain harder. We jumped into the inflatable ring and spent a few minutes throwing each other into the mud but then we were forced to retreat. After about 30 seconds of mud-filled bliss the mud started to make its way into our eyes. At first I thought my contacts were acting like mini eye mud shields. But the mud was crafty and it quickly infiltrated my defenses and lodged itself under my contacts. This is the part of Mud Fest that the poster of smiling mud covered people doesnt tell you. The pain was excruciating and we had to clean our eyes before we went back out for more. Several people were walking around wearing swim goggles; clearly this wasnt their first Mud Fest.
[The Marmot's Hole] All the stuff I haven't blogged because I've been so busy/pissed: Had the video been one of people speaking reasonably to a bus driver or asking someone to translate so they could get off the bus because of something pressing I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Instead it looks just as it was reported 10 drunk soldiers get on a bus, make a scene, probably see that they are having the cops called on them and attempt to get away, when the bus driver refuses to open the door in the middle of the road, they then try to (and succeed in) forcing their way out of the bus by both destroying property and assaulting fellow passengers.

[LSGfan ~ Lee Seung Gi Blog] Lee Seunggi takes on ... - LSGfan ~ Lee Seung Gi Blog - WordPress: Unfortunately, HOW Hodong chose to leave things (all his responsibilities and the associated people) has got me less and less sympathetic. It’s one thing when we make decisions that mainly impact our own lives. He wants to temporarily retire, fine. But it seems, there’s no tying up of loose ends, no transition period, like everyone else has to now clean up this mess. And with Seunggi having a big brunt of the pressure (Strong Heart and 1N2D)…
