[CAIDA What's New] This page describes CAIDA's plans to conduct a comparison survey of geolocation tools for determining the location of an Internet Protocol (IP) address (and other identifiers) and to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of such tools. Through this process, we intend to increase situational awareness of Internet topology structure, behavior, and vulnerabilities. This project receives support from (N66001-08-C-2029) Cybersecurity: Leveraging the Science and Technology of Internet Mapping for Homeland Security

[CAIDA What's New] CAIDA : home : about : progplan : progplan2007: For over ten years CAIDA has provided a neutral framework to support cooperative technical endeavors in Internet measurement, analysis, and tool development based on the best available empirical data. Our current research projects, primarily funded by theU.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), include severalmeasurement-based studies of the Internet's core infrastructure, withfocus on the health and integrity of the global Internet's topology, routing, addressing, and naming system. Our infrastructure activities, funded by NSF and DHS as well as other government and industrysources, include building a catalog of Internet measurement data sets, contributing to the (DHS-funded) PREDICT repository of datasets tosupport the (U.S.-based) network research community, and developingand deploying active and passive measurement infrastructure thatcost-effectively supports the global Internet research community.
