KML to Layer cannot measure geometry - WGS84 reprojected with ...
[Forums] My problem is that I need to measure lengths (using the Calculate Geometry tool) on this newly created layer and in order to do that the layer must be in a Projected Coordinate System and not a Geographic Coordinate System. When I attempt to reproject the created WGS84 layer to the right coordinate system the units are inaccurate and cannot be used for length calculations.

[It's All About Data] One of the highlights of Aaron’s presentation was showing how easy it is to set up FME Server to stream vector data out of a database into Google Earth, complete with client side caching! For added measure he drove home the point that this doesn’t mean you give up access to your data as he was still asked to authenticate before he could see the data!

[Google Geo Developers Blog] Note: To preserve the current, unlabeled appearance of regular lines in existing KML files, we’ve turned off all line labels by default in Google Earth 6.1. Because labels for physical width lines were turned on by default in Earth 6.0, you will now need to explicitly enable in your LineStyles to display them in Earth 6.1+.

[Jeroens blog] You can now also choose if you want the map to rezoom after the KML layers have been loaded or not using the kmlrezoom parameter. KML layers will load a bit after the map, since they require extra resources to be loaded, and there is no need to let the user wait to see the normal map until those are done loading.
