[publicenergy] This is a Flickrmap of my geotagged photos. There aren’t many on there yet but I’ve only been geotagging them for a short time.
Some related posts from Technorati and Google.
[Ron Schotts Geology Home Companion Blog] Is Yahoo! buying Riya?: I also speculated that this is what Rev Dan Catt has been working on since he abandoned geobloggers to join Yahoo!. (Give us back our Google Earth geotagged Flickr photos network link, Dan!)
[Paul Downey] Flyr from Flickr: Flyr From Flickr is a Greasemonkey script I've knocked up to add a link to flyr against geotagged photos on flickr. Technorati Tags: Firefox, flickr, flyr, geotagging, googleearth, googlemaps, greasemonkey
[geobloggers] New Job, Part II, Flickr: I'm going to try not to remove any functionality though, unless it somehow magically get replicated somewhere else. There's a bit of a fine line that I need to try and balance between trying out cool things in public, developing cool things in mysterious Yahoo!/Flickr Secret and whatever I happen to do as my job.
[Google Earth Blog] GeoTag Your Flickr Photos WITH Google Earth!: Last November a new web site called FlickrMap was announced by Mark Zeman which is an excellent tool for viewing geotagged (tying earth coordinates to a photo) Flickr photos in a Flash map (a small US$5 subscription is required to have your own map, but it is free to just geotag). FlickrMap was already cool in its interface for viewing geotagged photos on an interactive map, but you still had to use a variety of tools and steps to geotag your photos.
[David Davies Weblog] Now GPS enabled: I’m now much more location aware since buying a GPS receiver, not that I ever used to feel particularly lost but it’s comforting to know my exact location to 14 decimal places I’ve always had a bit of a geeky thing for satnav but many of the commercial systems are way too expensive. I found a cheapo GPS receiver for less than £40 and with my ageing P900 and a couple of shareware apps I’m away!
shahine.com/omar/: Because as bad as this problem was (I shudder to think of what would have happened had I been in a foreign country with nothing to do but take lots of pictures) at least I’ll never think twice about buying another camera from Nikon.
[Grasshoppermind] Geo Everything: Roundup of definitions: There has been such a lot of buzz about Google Earth, Mapping Hacks, Location based services and Geo ‘Everything’, that I think it’s time for a quick list of definitions and related links to benefit those who are new to this field. Please feel free to add comments if I’ve missed anything, or you have a link to a better definition.

[Makezine.com] MAKE: Blog: HOW TO GPS Tag Photos: Flickr, Mappr, Google Earth....: After hanging out at Where 2.0, I've been more interested in tagging my photographs with where they were taken with the exact latitude and longitude so I can later do some interesting things with them. This how-to is just the start of some mapping hacks, step-by-steps etc- I wanted to start out with the simplest method possible so even the non-techies can play.
[Geobloggers.blogspot.com] geobloggers: There's a bit of a fine line that I need to try and balance between trying out cool things in public, developing cool things in mysterious Yahoo!/Flickr Secret and whatever I happen to do as my job. Finally, just because something appears on geobloggers doesn't mean it'll appear in Flickr.
[Mcwetboy.net] The Map Room: Geotagging: Meanwhile, Richard wrote me last night to tell me about his page on geocoding photos, which points to some of the more automatic ways of geocoding photos rather than manually adding them: built-in camera interfaces, cellphones, GPS receivers. The upshot is that we probably won’t have to geotag our photos forever;
