Some people call this geotagging, or geocaching, or geocoding, or (most accurately) geojerking, or a new set of buzzwords useful for getting venture capital and starting businesses that will fail in less than a year.

[Wholesomedick.livejournal.com] Wholesome 8===D: Eventful.com is a great use of geojerking technology. When you hit the first page it gets the coordinates of your ISP and shows you what's going on in your area.
