Geotags.org > Meetro does IM Geolocation (hey, kinda like us!)
[EisenBlog - Marc Eisenstadt's Home Page Blog at The Open University's Knowledge Media Institute] Got an invite from Stowe Boyd to Meetro, a new geoloc-IM-thingie, but with a weird return email address for Stowe which looked suspicious. Haven’t had a chance to try it out, but was relieved to see Stowe’s comment about the poor user interface that led to a bit of inadverdent social spam.
Some related posts from Technorati and Google.
McGees Musings: certainly generated a substantial amount of interest and reaction among the bloggers that I pay attention to (e.g., Merlin Mann, Stowe Boyd). She did an excellent job of summarizing one perspective on managing the flow of data and information that we all must cope with. (via Cosmos)
Micro Persuasion: Here are some of the highlights from his talk at Mesh. Stowe Boyd, who's sitting/blogging next to me, has more rich notes (or will soon) on his blog. (via Cosmos)
Federated Media/Tech: From /Message The folks at 2ndSite recently completed their "Brand Murder" series (see here), and they are announcing today their new branding as Freshbooks. The company will continue in its focus on online invoicing and time tracking, but will be addiing more of a social architecture to the company's offereings over the next months. (via Cosmos)
Zoli's Blog :: Main Page: Stowe Boyd "created this market" : his eBay bid on wearing logo'd t-shirts totaled him $3,600 - he sold his body for a year. As we know, in business being a first mover is not always an advantage - the second player comes in having learned all the mistakes an conquers the market. (via Cosmos)

Free Hogg.: They also have a feature for adding a widget to your blog which is pretty cool. LibraryThing also provides recommendations based on what books you own, your tags, etc. (via Cosmos)
(via Cosmos)
Socklabs: idea was that we were going to take a break from computing and play Laser Tag, but when we arrived we were told that the place was rented out for the night for a private party. Eh *shrugs*. (via Cosmos)

[Kmi.open.ac.uk] EisenBlog - Marc Eisenstadt's Home Page Blog at The Open ...: Stowe Boyd flags a really significant development in the Jabber space, in a recent entry entitled Google Talk and XMPP, mentioning that they are joining the ‘federated space’ of Jabber IDs that enables any two IM users (in the ‘right family of technologies’, that is) to communicate, regardless of their ‘home server’.
[Getreal.corante.com] Get Real: Stowe Boyd's Soapbox: Just like advertising in the RSS stream, the blogger immediately asks "can I use the same widgets on my blog, and have a single mechanism to manage these sorts of interaction?" As soon as Feedburner offered Feedblitz -- the email notification service -- integrated with their feed management, I immediately dropped using the MT embedded solution for email notification. So, I can extrapolate: as soon as Feedburner stabilizes the implementation of FeedFlare, I would likely want to use the same stuff on my blog, so that the user experience -- wherever -- is as similar and rich as possible.
