GEO CODE Existing Photos APP by skarum

[Pro Freelance Projects] I’d like a simple App (using basic iOS features/options) created where I can take any existing photo to a specific location and assign the current coordinates and geocode previously taken photos. (Budget: $250-$750 USD, Jobs: iPhone, Mobile Phone)

Flickr, KML, and a stroll down memory lane. « geobloggers

[geobloggers] If you want Google Earth to spin round and show you where the latest photos are when a KML feed updates open up the Info/Properties for the Network Link and turn on “Fly to location on Refresh”. Originally I had this served as on by default, but then it got too annoying when you’re trying to look at something and suddenly the globe spins 180 to show you the latest photos.

I don’t use geo because its too f**king annoying to get the data in and I really have not seen /any/ good tool for it, save my Android phone which just does it, because it has the sensor anyway —

Flickr Photos now in Street View ”¦

[geobloggers] Panaramio photos, but it also means Google has a bit more understand of where a photo is and it’s context to the surrounding area than Flickr itself has. I guess this means they’ll make it onto the iPad version of GoogleMaps too.

[Keeping it Real at 66 Degrees North Latitude] They have to go through a screening process to see if they are appropriate and then Google Earth only uploads photos once a month. When the photos are uploaded they look like little blue squares that you can click on.

Flickr: Discussing Geotagging on My Flickr Map in GeoTagging Flickr

[GeoTagging Flickr] What I wound upwith is just a dot where the last 20 or so photos are located. How can I see an overall map of where my photos are taken, so that I can then zoom in on that area and see what photos were taken in that area.

How to use flickr as a geocoder

[geobloggers] People enter tags for photos into flickr and people enter the location of those photos via a map (or GPS data). Which is effectively mapping tags to location and in this instance the photos are incidental (that’s left to Fotoland.us).

Flickr update - 1.2 million photo’s geotagged in 24 hrs

Customer Experience.] When we were doing our projections for how many photos Flickr members would geotag, we though that we’d hit a million in the first month, maybe even as fast as two weeks. Instead, 24 hours in, there were 1,234,384 geotagged photos (and now more than 1.6 million geotagged photos as I write this, about 9 hours later).
