[Keeping it Real at 66 Degrees North Latitude] They have to go through a screening process to see if they are appropriate and then Google Earth only uploads photos once a month. When the photos are uploaded they look like little blue squares that you can click on.

Flickr: Discussing Geotagging on My Flickr Map in GeoTagging Flickr
[GeoTagging Flickr] What I wound upwith is just a dot where the last 20 or so photos are located. How can I see an overall map of where my photos are taken, so that I can then zoom in on that area and see what photos were taken in that area.

Eye-Fi Now Geotags, Uploads at Wayport
[dailywireless.org] It is designed to automatically geotag photos. Latitude and longitude information are incorporated into photos by Skyhook, which has mapped existing Wi-Fi hotspots across the United States and Europe.

PhotoInfoEditor - Add Meta-Data To Your Photos

This can be added manually or automatically by placing a pointer on a map to get the latitude and longitude data, and then allowing the program to add town, area/region and country information to your photos.

How to use flickr as a geocoder
[geobloggers] People enter tags for photos into flickr and people enter the location of those photos via a map (or GPS data). Which is effectively mapping tags to location and in this instance the photos are incidental (that’s left to Fotoland.us).

Flickr update - 1.2 million photos geotagged in 24 hrs
[ExperienceCurve - Marketing. Social Media. Customer Experience.] When we were doing our projections for how many photos Flickr members would geotag, we though that we’d hit a million in the first month, maybe even as fast as two weeks. Instead, 24 hours in, there were 1,234,384 geotagged photos (and now more than 1.6 million geotagged photos as I write this, about 9 hours later).
