[Vacuum - Edward Vielmetti in Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104] This brings to mind a quote from Leslie Lamport: A distributed system is one in which the failure of a computer you didn't even know existed can render your own computer unusable. Here's the short version of the build notes for the Plazes list of recent locations on the right side of this weblog, which tries to tell you where I have been recently.

[Vielmetti.typepad.com] Vacuum - Edward Vielmetti in Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104: Your laptop is identifiable by the network address, or if you run Plazes like I do you can find out where is Edward Vielmetti down to the cafe. GPS devices are making their way into phones (see this Nextel Blackberry), for such important applications as finding the nearest coffee shop.

Ask.metafilter.comhttp://ask.metafilter.com [Ask.metafilter.com] Ask MetaFilter | Community Weblog: There's lots about but I'm leery about releasing either credit card details or my eBay login. If it's UK compatible that would also be a plus!

http://on.silkblogs.com [On.silkblogs.com] Live On Silkblogs - tourniQuet: as a side note on my other blog "Public Eye", I was complaining about RSS SPAM on the RSS search engine... Scott over at Feedster was kind enough to respond and says they are looking at adding filter and other anti-spam algorithms.

Edbrill.comhttp://www.edbrill.com [Edbrill.com] Ed Brill: Not that we would need a place to bash Lotus, but simply a forum where our "experts" could be free to blog about anything related to Lotus technologies, the good, the bad, competitive information, industry trends, and other interesting opinionated postings, without fear of being unnecessarily censored -- although I'm not sure if some of the postings in the discussion forums don't get a little "colorful" every now and then. Ultimately, it will probably have to be a group of individuals outside of IBM/Lotus(like Penumbra) that collectively agree to host such a site and attract and maintain an active participation from a number of those experts in the Lotus community.
