[/Message] Matt Webb -- Matt gave a presentation called Making Senses (see here), in which he attacks the general question of how to improve the browser experience based on a reflection on various user senses and how analogs of hearing, touch, smelling, sight, and so on could better inform how we wander around. Awesome preso, and one that I plan to return to in more detail, next week.

Ben Griffiths’ weblog: THe obvious target is the review sites..where user reviews are collected (with the risk that you could be advertising next to a bunch of bad reviews of your product). An opportunity here is the development of better targetting which will help both advertisers and users…users only seeings adverts about what they want to see. (via Cosmos)

Usabilityblog.dk: t really have the time to take two days away from the thesis (with the deadline moving closer and faster) there are no regrets, and I?m already looking forward to next year. Infovore : a weblog by Tom Armitage: Adam Arvidsson’s General Intellect - or the Renaissance of Karl Marx was utterly captivating - a lecturer with no slides, no notes, and the audience in the palm of his hand for 45 minutes. It also complemented Ulla-Maaria Mutanen’s Crafter Economics very well indeed, and illuminated more of that talk for me. (via Cosmos)

david’s blog: features that he would include in his ideal sensory browser and talked about the different way we could use senses to engage with the web in different ways. [Stoweboyd.com] /Message: Each user will only need a single login, no matter how many other accounts are connected. This is the right way to build social software, unlike the mistake made by 37signals in Basecamp (see Basecamp and the Federation of Work), where a highly connected person like me can have a dozen or more Basecamp logins, and no consolidated view across those siloed work environments.

[Robichaux.net] Paul's Down-Home Page: Reportedly, Delta's going to enhance this so that you can specify someone else to get your flight alerts-- I'd love that feature, as it gives me an easy way for Arlene to keep track of when to get me from the airport. Running a close second is this report that DL's going to stop buying CRJs and get the EMB-170/190 instead, which is about a million times more comfortable.
